# How do you get a team to actually use a new AI tool?

Design the first week of use as carefully as the tool. Put it where the task already starts, so nobody has to remember it. Fill the first step in for them. Show what the agent did and let people correct it. Then track weekly use after launch, and fix what people skip.

## Why do good tools go unused?

Because the old way is already a habit. The spreadsheet is open, the shortcut is known, and the team trusts it.

A new tool asks for effort before it pays back. If it lives in its own tab, it loses to the habit by Friday.

## What makes the first use easy?

Start the tool where the work begins: the invoice inbox, the approval email, the new hire form. Fill in what the agent already knows.

Ask for 1 decision, never a setup. Each small yes makes the next one easier.

## How does a team learn to trust it?

By seeing the work. Show each step the agent took and the rule it followed.

Let anyone correct a result in 1 click, and show the tool remembering the correction. People trust what they can check.

## What happens after launch?

Weekly use is the number that matters, more than the launch date. Watch who uses it, which steps they skip, and where they fall back to the spreadsheet.

Fix those first. That work is what the retainer is for.

## In 1 picture

5 design moves that turn a launch into weekly use.

1. In the path: Starts where the task starts
2. First step filled: The agent drafts, a person checks
3. Work shown: Every step and its rule
4. Easy to correct: 1 click, and it remembers
5. Weekly use: Tracked after launch
