# How do you fix drop-off in fintech onboarding and KYC?

People quit KYC when a step asks for trust it has not earned. Compliance sets the rules, so the fix is the order, the reasons and the effort. Say why before you ask. Let an agent read each document and fill the form. The customer only checks what it flags. Let people stop and resume.

## Why do people quit KYC?

Every step is a small act of trust: a passport photo, a selfie, an address, sometimes a salary.

A request with no reason reads like a risk. The same request with 1 line, required by the regulator to open your account, reads like care. The reason goes above the field, not in a help link.

## What does the agent do?

It reads the document the moment it is uploaded. It fills the name, number, expiry and address. It checks the photo for glare and blur before the customer moves on.

The customer confirms instead of typing. Only what the agent could not read, or what looks wrong, waits for them.

## What does a person still decide?

Anything compliance flags. A mismatch, an expired ID, a name that differs from the bank record.

The agent routes it to your team with what it found and why. It never approves an account on its own.

## Onboarding ends at the first transaction.

An approved account that never moves money is still a drop-off.

The flow ends at the first top-up, transfer or payment. The approval screen shows that next action. Save every step, so people can stop for a missing document and resume on any device.

The agent does the typing. People only review the flags.

1. ID uploaded: Checked for glare and blur
2. Agent reads it: Name, number, expiry filled
3. Customer confirms: No typing
4. First transaction: Where onboarding ends

When a mismatch or an expired id at step 2: Your team reviews. With what the agent found, and why.
